The Teamwork Chat team has been working on some exciting enhancements for some of your favorite features. Read on to learn more about what’s new!
Integrated status updates
If you’re in a meeting or going out for lunch, you can now set a status in Teamwork Chat to update your team on what you’re doing so they know that you might not be able to respond immediately. What’s more, when you update your status from Teamwork Chat, it automatically syncs with Teamwork Projects and vice versa — so you only need to set your status from one place to keep everyone in the loop. Even better? When you set your status in Teamwork Chat, you can add a bit of character by prefacing your custom status with an emoji 🤩 We’ve also included some quick-add options for more commonly used statuses so you can quickly update the team. What we love about this new update is that the emoji you choose will appear next to your name in conversations — adding an extra bit of flair to your conversations.

When you @mention a team member, their status will appear in their handle description so you’re kept up-to-date when it matters. It also appears under their personal profile on the right-hand side — which looks a little different as we’re making some changes to pave the way for good things to come.

More Do Not Disturb options
Back in June, we introduced our Do Not Disturb (DND) feature. Do Not Disturb mutes all push, email and desktop notifications so you’re not interrupted when you need to do some deep thinking. It also adds a DND badge to your avatar to let your team know when you’re unavailable and don’t want to be disturbed. This gives you more control over when you’re available for the team so you can concentrate on the work you need to get done. You now have more options when enabling the Do Not Disturb mode. Along with the previous 30 minutes, 2 hours and 4 hours options, we’ve added options for Tomorrow which will set your status as DND until the following morning at 8:30am, and Next week, which will keep DND active for one week.

These additional options will enable you to gain further control over your time and help you to find that moment of Zen. Check out our help doc to learn more.
Channel description links
When creating a Teamwork Chat channel, you may want to provide a link to an external source of information, a project, space or just provide some team motivation in the channel description. Previously, any link in the description would have to be manually copied and pasted in order to navigate to it. Now, any link placed in the description will automatically be made clickable, allowing you and your team to navigate to the relevant information quickly.

Revamped keyboard shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts are an important feature for those who like to get things done quickly, and with our newly revamped shortcuts it makes them even easier to use… and remember. You can view our revamped shortcuts by selecting the dropdown menu and choosing Keyboard Shortcuts – check them out below.

If you need a hand with any of the new features listed above or have any feedback, please send us an email at chat@teamwork.com — we’d love to hear from you! We also have a full help docs site to support you 24/7. Don’t forget, Teamwork Chat is 100% free to use. If you already have a Teamwork Projects, Teamwork Desk, Teamwork Spaces or Teamwork CRM site, you can enable Teamwork Chat from the integrations or apps settings of your site.
