Teamwork Chat – June 2016 Updates
The last six months have been very eventful for Teamwork Chat. The release of third party embeddable cards, default rooms, improvements in attachments, sidebar keyboard shortcuts, integrations with Teamwork Desk and Teamwork Projects, the ability to delete messages, the ability to mention @online colleagues, and of course the arrival of the Teamwork Chat Mobile App (read about these features in full here) proves that 2016 has been a busy year for the Teamwork Chat crew. We’ve got a few long term projects in the pipeline which we think you’ll really love. They are taking up a lot of our resources this month but we still managed to beat out some great improvements for you.
You now have the ability to clear all the messages from any of your direct conversations. The conversation will still be visible to the other person, but it will give your screen a fresh start.
Improved View Displayed Offline
When Teamwork Chat is disconnected, all the messages that you have previously loaded will still be visible in your conversations. Even if you haven’t loaded the conversation before, the latest message will be visible (along with the rest once you reconnect and they’re loaded). So even when you’re offline you’ll still know what’s up in your messages.
Improved Updates & Notifications
Previously when you took your computer out of sleep mode (or something similar), once you reconnected, Teamwork Chat would send you a bunch of notifications all at once, even if you’ve already seen them on another device. We’ve fixed this, so now you’ll only get notifications for things you haven’t seen before.
Desktop App Zoom Controls
You can now zoom in and out of the app for your convenience, by simply using cmd + or – keys on Mac and ctrl + or – in Windows. Cmd 0 and ctrl 0 will reset. If that’s not enough to tickle your tastebuds, here’s a taste of what’s next on the horizon for Teamwork Chat.
Bots (prepared third-party bots and a bot API/platform)
Deeper integrations with Teamwork Desk and Teamwork Projects, including “Project Rooms”
Linux desktop app
Opening Teamwork Chat to invited users outside the owner company
That’s it for this month. We hope you enjoyed these updates, and you’re excited about all the great things to come. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you.
