To determine how to correctly structure a marketing plan in Teamwork Projects, one must first ask, ‘What makes a good marketing plan?’

“The ultimate goal of any marketing strategy is to help you grow your business and increase your brand awareness.” – Andrew Cleanser

Dozens of methods to achieve this goal may leap to mind. Though a brilliant marketing plan certainly isn’t just stumbled upon, nearly anyone can create a plan that fits their individual needs. The true challenge is implementation because a brilliant marketing plan is worthless if it never leaves the drawing board.

Teamwork Projects is the perfect tool to create a marketing plan that is measurable, flexible, and implementable.

Measurable: A marketing plan with concretely measured results works quantifiable miracles. Tim Berry said, “The key is to take a plan and think ahead about how you’ll know whether it was implemented [well]. Will you be able to tell?

If you cannot determine the relative success of the project throughout its duration based on hard numbers, progression is stunted, and the project never reaches its full potential.

Flexible: Flexibility to inevitability in a plan enables the marketing initiative to adapt to a growing understanding of the market and market changes.

It is vital your plan allows you to gain this understanding as you go along, regarding the environment in which the plan is enacted, so you can hone and refine the best ways to reach your target audience.

Implementable: Tom Landry said, “Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.

The structure of the plan: who does what, how they do it, and when, what resources they need, what could stand in the way and how can those things be overcome, should be clear.

Regular team meetings to make sure everyone stays on course and keeps communicating, are critical. Structuring a marketing plan and its projects in Teamwork Projects is extremely simple.

  1. Begin by choosing Add Project from the Dashboard.

  2. Once the project is created, click the Project Settings gear (below your picture) where you can create a name for your project and a description that will be visible on the Overview tab for all people working on the project.

  3. From the Overview tab, click Options to create start and end dates for the project.

  4. Next, set up milestones by clicking the Milestones tab. These serve as checkpoints along the course of your project.

  5. Then click the Tasks tab to begin creating tasks within task lists and assigning specific people to carry them out. Saving these task lists as templates allows you to assign general roles and carry them over from project to project. You can log time and completion percentages on individual tasks and record how much progress has been made.

Teamwork Projects allows organizations to structure and successfully managing a marketing project that is measurable, flexible, and simple to implement.
