Get excited: Teamwork.com is getting a refreshed look and feel! When it officially rolls out, you’ll notice a cleaner, less busy UI that’s designed to help you move through your work with less friction and more focus. Not only that, but a customizable navigation will make tailoring your in-app experience to your individual workflow a cinch.
This update is all about creating a more modern, spacious experience within the platform that helps you find what you need faster, surface the details that matter most, and stay in flow throughout your day.
Over the coming weeks, you’ll notice visual improvements, clearer navigation, and thoughtful refinements across key areas of the platform—all shaped by customer feedback and usability testing.
Why we’re making this change
As teams like yours grow, so does the amount of information they manage every day. We’ve heard from users that while Teamwork.com is powerful, the interface could do more to:
Reduce visual noise
Customize your navigation to pin what you need or remove what you don’t
Make it easier to scan and prioritize
Adapt better to different roles and ways of working
Get quicker access to recent items (including projects, tasks, and comments)
After conducting a lengthy and in-depth user research process with multiple rounds of user feedback, we embarked to make a refresh of the platform that’s all about clarity, not reinvention. Without disrupting your usual workflows, we want to give you more ways to focus without getting bogged down in the details. Think of it as tidying your workspace, not moving to an entirely new office.
What’s new and improved
Let’s dig into some of the shiny and new updates that you’ll notice with the new layout.
)
A more focused (and spacious) left-hand navigation
We’ve introduced a subtle color block on the left-hand side of the navigation to create a less narrow, more comfortable working area. This helps separate the navigation from your work view, making it easier on the eyes during those long working sessions.
You can still customize the top navigation color theme to match your preference or brand. Just note that the left-hand side will stay consistent to maintain consistency and reduce distraction.
Clearer navigation, organized by how you work
You’ll notice that navigation items are now grouped under two clear categories:
Manage — perfect for working on projects, managing people and clients, and more
Plan & Insights — ideal for planning, reporting, and keeping track of calendars
You can expand or collapse these sections based on your role or what you’re focused on, helping keep your sidebar relevant instead of cluttered.
And because no two teams work the same way, each grouping includes a Customize icon, allowing you to tailor the sidebar to your workflow. Pin what you need, and remove what you don’t!
)
“Jump To” isn’t going away—it’s just getting smarter
If you’re used to using the "Jump To" shortcut, never fear—the functionality is still there, now relabelled as "Recent." What is changing is how it works. Instead of a static list, you’ll now see a fly-out experience focused on what you actually use, including:
Faster access to your most recent work, with dedicated tabs for Projects, Tasks, and Comments.
Starred items
Starred projects are also easier to reach, now living directly in the bottom-left navigation. It’s the same intent but easier to navigate and much speedier—a win-win!
Small moves that make a big difference
A few final tweaks you’ll notice:
The "Automate" button has moved to the top right, making it more visible and easier to access when you’re ready to rely on Automations to streamline even the most mundane work.
You can customize your sidebar to fit your workflow by keeping key items visible, moving others to the "More" menu, or turning them off completely.
What happens next
Once again, this is purely a cosmetic and organizational update designed to support the way you already work. The ultimate goal? Faster scanning, less cognitive load, and fewer distractions.
Soon, we’ll begin rolling out the new UI, with no action required on your part to enable the updates. As always, we’ll be listening closely to feedback and continuing to refine the experience.
Thanks for building great work in Teamwork.com. We’re excited to make the space you work in feel even better!
