A new approach to working in Teamwork.com
Manage anything and everything Those messy spreadsheets and external trackers you had been using? You won’t be needing them anymore. Custom Items let you manage whatever your business needs—contracts, NDAs, employees, assets, or objectives—all in one central hub.
Flexible organization that’s determined by you Now you can create completely customizable tables within a project to capture your unique data. Add custom columns (like “Owner,” “Payment Status,” or “Due Date”) to track the exact details you care about. From there, you can sort, filter, and group your items to see your information just the way you want it.
Views that fit your workflow Not everything belongs in a task. That’s why Custom Items introduce new ways to visualize and organize your information using custom fields, groupings, and advanced filters so you can manage any workflow that doesn’t fit neatly into traditional task structures.
Built for every industry and team Regardless of your industry, Custom Items make Teamwork.com infinitely flexible. Whatever your process, you can now shape Teamwork.com around your business needs instead of the other way around. Here are just a few examples of how Custom Items can come alongside and support the work in your area of expertise:

Tips for getting up and running with Custom Items
Change can be tricky, but luckily Custom Items is a cinch to set up, paving a new way forward to structure your projects:
Add a Custom Tab Inside any project, you can now create a new Custom Tab to hold your Custom Items.
Define your object When you add a Custom Tab, you can name your new object anything you want — “Contracts,” “Employees,” “Objectives,” or just stick with “Items.” You can also choose from recommended options to get started faster. (And if you need to rename it at any point, no sweat.)
Customize your Table View Each Custom Tab opens in a familiar Table View, where you can:
Add custom columns (like text, dates, people, status fields, or numbers–including currency symbols, percentages, or something more customized).
Group by columns, filter by conditions, or sort by priorities to instantly surface what’s important and get organized in a snap.
Create sections or group by columns to organize information your way.
Inline editing and bulk actions Because we designed Custom Items for maximum speed and flexibility, you’re able to edit data directly in cells, rename columns or sections inline, and use bulk actions to manage multiple entries at once—no extra steps required.
Rich item details Similar to how tasks work, you can click into any item to see all of its properties, edit details, and even add comments or updates. (And stay tuned for future iterations that will support files and activity logs.)

Your way of working, enhanced for maximum flexibility
Whether you’re managing contracts that need signatures, tracking assets, or building out onboarding checklists, Custom Items are here to give you full control. Everything you create is editable inline, and groupings can be customized or removed entirely, giving you the power to structure information exactly how you need.
Track more than tasks — We’ll never stop you from managing tasks in Teamwork.com. But when you can take task management to a whole new level by managing contracts, assets, employees, or even inventory? That’s where the real power of Custom Items comes into play.
Customize it your way — Add any field you need—it could be anything from payment status to serial number, or more standard ones like owner or due date. When we say the sky’s the limit with Custom Items customization, we really mean it.
See the data that matters — When you need to surface relevant information ASAP, rest assured that you can sort, filter, and group information to create views that make the most sense for you at any given moment.
Ditch the spreadsheets — Everything lives in your go-to work management platform (that’d be Teamwork.com), and it’s all connected to your projects, people, and work.
So go ahead—ditch the spreadsheets, create your first Custom Tab, add a few Custom Items underneath it, and start managing your work the way you’ve always wanted.
