There was no shortage of great teams and innovative projects in the latest Teamwork.com Hackathon which took place from 8th September – 9th September.
To see what we got up to, we’ve put together this short video with highlights from the event.

Why we have Hackathons

We run the Teamwork.com Hackathon twice a year and it’s fast becoming an important event in our calendar. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make some headway on innovative projects that might otherwise get pushed aside in favor of daily deadlines.
Not only that, but it encourages everyone to form teams with someone who they normally wouldn’t collaborate with. The results are always astounding and this hackathon certainly had some exciting projects.
We kicked things off at 9.30am on Thursday the 8th, and just over 24 hours later 23 great projects were ready to be presented. Some extremely dedicated individuals even stayed overnight!
Hackathons are hungry and thirsty work, so to keep everyone energized there was a team lunch, an evening meal, drinks and snacks. And to keep everyone on their toes but there was an afternoon treasure hunt for some spot prizes.

23 Projects

Friday morning saw the start of the three-minute presentations which began with our remote staff who took turns showcasing their work. This was followed by everyone here in Cork, Ireland.
In total there were 23 fantastic projects that covered tech and non-tech related ideas. We can’t divulge too much yet on what these projects were, but let’s just say that you’ll be seeing some changes coming soon that started out as a Hackathon project.
