We talked to Laura Hampton, Head of Marketing and PR, about how Teamwork Projects provides Impression with a platform for complete project management and execution, offering the all-in-one solution they need for team and client collaboration.

Departing the base camp

Prior to using Teamwork Projects, Impression used Basecamp. While it suited the team’s needs initially, they didn’t get on with some of the newer updates to the platform, and began to find it too clunky to use internally and to share with clients.

Laura and the rest of her team found that as the company grew, so did their demands for a tool with more functionality. Their project management software wasn’t ticking the right boxes. To manage tasks, track time, and exchange emails and messages, they were having to depend on multiple disparate tools, which was confusing for team members and clients alike. So they started looking for a platform that could reduce this.

But choosing a new system wasn’t easy. The Impression team started investigating Teamwork Projects after a suggestion from a new hire who had used the software at a previous job.

After careful evaluation and consideration, they knew they had found a project management system that matched their needs. And they had all the resources they needed to help them make an informed decision:

When we were initially looking at the platform, the Teamwork Projects webinars were really valuable. It meant everyone on our team could get a really good understanding of the platform before we committed.

Scaling new heights

For the Impression team, Teamwork’s greatest advantage was that it gave them a single, centralized platform to organize everything. All of the features they needed were packaged together in one system — such as task and project management, time-tracking, real-time messaging, and project reporting — removing the need for additional tools.

For our industry in particular, there’s a great deal of reliance on tools. Teamwork Projects presented a way to roll some of these tools up together in one place, which was highly appealing for us as a digital marketing agency.

Today, the Impression team has several favorite features in Teamwork Projects. They find the precision of the time tracking feature particularly useful, giving them the ability to see time spent on individual tasks and allowing them to generate accurate timeline estimates for future projects.

With everything in one place, the whole team has regained the time they had previously wasted switching between apps and looking for the one piece of information they need. And since moving to Teamwork Projects, they’ve also stopped using Google Hangouts in favor of Teamwork Chat.

Not only does Teamwork help streamline workflows and simplify processes, it also enables the team at Impression to give clients visibility on projects, resulting in smoother collaboration.

For us, choosing Teamwork Projects was all about the user experience. We use our project management tool internally as a team but also with our external clients, so it’s important that the tool we use reflects well on us as a business.

Peak performance

The Impression team is now more focused than ever, and they’ve streamlined their workflows. Laura reports noticeable improvements in efficiency and productivity since the team’s adoption of Teamwork Projects, but they’re not the only ones who have been won over. She also says that the company’s clients have been equally impressed by Teamwork Projects as they check in on the progress of their projects. “Our clients have all responded very positively,” she says.

The financial savings have also been a plus for Impression. Switching to Teamwork has allowed the company to reduce costs by eliminating various other software subscriptions they no longer need, since Teamwork combines the features of multiple apps into one platform.
