The past few years have been amazing for Teamwork.com. I’ve watched our company grow from the two-person crew of myself and Dan to the 82-person team it is today, and I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way.
As we added more and more people to our team, the challenge of keeping everyone in the loop about what’s going on in the company became a more difficult task than ever.
So last March we decided to start an internal company blog called In The Works.
We post about all of the great stuff happening at Teamwork.com, but we also address bigger challenges and encourage questions and comments to get everyone involved in determining Teamwork’s future.
For the next few weeks, I’ll be posting here on topics from my internal blog posts that made a big difference in our company. You’ll see what we got right—and where we struggled.
Here are some of the topics I’ll be covering in this series:

  • Getting team feedback through employee surveys
  • Giving back some of our profits to good causes
  • Time tracking without being Big Brother

I’m excited to give insight into some of the real issues and challenges we’ve come up against on our journey so far, and hopefully, some of the things we’ve learned helpĀ some of you other growing companies out.
To kick things off, next week, I’ll be writing about how we chose the 12 company values we use to guide Teamwork.com.
If you want next week’s post delivered to your inbox, subscribe to our blog here.
Otherwise, I’ll see you back here next Thursday!
